I maybe young but im not nieve. I plan on going to school for ecology and architecture that specializes in green housing. im here to make a difference

Im not going to lie, i makes me sick to see how the goverment is so narrow minded and cares so much about hatred and war rather than making this world a better place for everyone and everything in it. Im sure we’re all well aware of global warming and the ozone depletion. But what are we doing to change? I know there are many efforts on finding renewable resources but not enough people actually care about it. I cant wait for the new president to be in office so we can have a fresh start.

but for now all i can say is.. reduce, reuse, recycle. :)

Just finishing an architecture degree in the South West of England that is heavily focused on green architecture. I say if you have the drive do it but it will not be an easy ride architecture courses have twice as many lecture and studio time than the average degree. The problem is with architecture that it is hard to find companys to work for that speacialise in green architecture personally i dont care to work for one as I hope to make the company I work for greener and help advise some of our less green clients how they can improve

I’m so glad that you are determined to make this Earth a better place for everyone. It is very true that not enough people care about the environment… so we have to educate as many people as we can, and try our best to be environmentally friendly ourselves. If everyone can work together we can accomplish something huge.

Dude, you are so right. It doesn’t seem like we’re getting anywhere with environmental problems right now, but that’s all gonna change soon. Soon, it’s our generation that’s going to be in control and I can feel a new vibe going through us. All of us love our planet and we want to keep it healthy. We won’t let our parents mistakes stop us!

We’re all in this together...It’s a process of understanding...life.  I see it like a childhood and we’re all finally growing into adults...Together...Coming to a point where we stop pointing fingers...blaming...shaming...someone else...governments, parents, children, this generation or that generation, this country or that country, this problem or that problem...and all the other variations of this or that...well, besides one...us and the source of creation.  So, to me, it’s always all of us...in the now that was, the now that is, and the now that is to come.  And at the same time, it isn’t just about us...that is, humans...again, I think it’s so much more...a relationship, balance, symmetry that is not yet in harmony...us and our source (whatever name you call it or don’t call it!).  Change is happening and we’re a part of it...a part...and our only real choice is whether or not we choose to see it; seek it.  Cause when you actually see/seek, at the same time you can’t help but feel/do...understanding, changing, shaping, our world.  So, I think the best thing we can all do is pay attention...listen, see; perceive, be honest and humble(d), understanding our part in each moment, while we reduce, reduce, reduce...reuse and recycle.  We don’t have to wait for the government to tell us what to do or to receive a degree.  We just have to see/feel and be.

Jimmy and Taryn—it would be great if you could post links in the Environmental Education section—the thread “College Programs—Environmental Education”—a link to info about the program you are in, Jimmy, and Taryn, any programs you are looking into.  I am hoping it will be helpful to gather one list of programs that are environmentally oriented.  So, if someone is interested in pursuing further education is these areas, there is a resource for learning about the programs.

I had a professor in Grad school who used to talk about “doing well by doing good.” There are so many opportunities for careers where you can do well and still have a very positive impact on the world around you.  And the better educated we all are, the better our chances of enacting real change.
