All At Once

Better Together is indeed a very good song but I have to acknowledge that there are especially two songs that are “still” my absolute favourites: Good People and SWW. These were the first songs I heard of Jack or at least that is why I recognized him as a singer and musician. Unfortunately I have just known him now since summer 2005 (but US-singers take some time to get popular in Europe too) and not before but I am very thankful that I got to know his music.
So these two songs were such kinds as milestones for me. But of course there are a lot of other songs that I like very much, f.i. Sleep Through The Static, If I Had Eyes, Never Know, Gone, Rodeo Clowns, Hope, Inaudible Melodies, Crying Shame, Breakdown,Taylor,Go On (which I think is one of the most touching songs Jack has ever written),... and I could make this list go on and on.
I like especially his songs where he deals with current topics and kind of uses those songs (some where already stated above) to state his opinion about those topics.

i get you.. maybe thats the reason i love better together.. it was the first song i listened to… and a very important person in my life made me listen to it.. so i guess thats my reason.. Good People.. as a matter of fact, is one of my favourite too. I guess if you like one of jack’s songs you’ll probably like them all. Lately i been loving songs of jack featuring Ben Harper ( who’s a great singer too). High tide or a Low tide ( Bob Marley’s original) performed by jack and ben… OMG! i love that version…
I think that jack should write, as you said, songs related with actual facts such as environmental changes or how that’s affecting us.. im really concerned about that.. but i cant get the chance to make a change.. i try my best with simple things such us keeping light bulbs off and wasting less water, off course i buy biodegradable trash bags and energy saving light bulbs, i recycle everything i can, but doing that doesn’t seem like a change for the world, for my country.. for my city.. it actually doesn’t seem like a change even for my house!!

It is great you try to do your best to avoid climate change. Even simple things have an impact even if you do not see them them at first sight. But what goes around, comes around. (or how this proverb I’m looking for is called in English):)
Jack’s ALL AT ONCE slogan is: An individual action, multiplied by millions, creates global change. And being part of this community you really get the chance to make a change.
For Jack’s an environmental activist I think this is also how Jack Johnson differentiates very positively from other musicians who would have the means to do a change but kind of waste the chance. So I think it is great that Jack uses his popularity and his music to reach lots of people and shows them how we can make a change and how we can show others to make a change.

By the way I forgot to mention this: I wish you a HAPPY NEW YEAR! ;)

Love the enthusiasm!  Cool.  And, I love them all…really…words just can’t capture the way his music/lyrics touched/touch me.

For those interested….I am doing the memorial service for a Jack Johnson, “over-the-top” fan.  She passed away yesterday at the age of 40 years, and “better together” will be the sound track for the slide show that will be presented.  Her family tells me that when Jack was in Canada she caught two shows on the same weekend; one in Toronto and one in Montreal.  She has been a Jack Johnson evangelist, sharing the good news of his music with everybody who will listen.  He’s lost one of his greatest fans and his music will grace the celebration of her life on Saturday, Jan. 31st.

As a fellow “over the top fan”, I will be thinking of her.
