What I read above really just makes me sick.  I could care less about your epiphany on the war.  The statement that pains my snarrglies…

“This world sucks in many ways…not just in the easy to see; perceive physical ways, but in the “unseen” ways that are easily felt; perceivable touch inside…within.  The things we’ve done as we’ve tried to play the bigger role than what man was intended for.”

What?  You live in Wisconsin, probably went to school in Madison, so I understand your taught to hate the USA.  I do not understand how you could possibly fathom knowing what “role man was intended for.” ???  I see that I live in the greatest country in the world, and my country is so great, some of the people are willing to sacrifice part of their lives to share parts of that greatness.  It is really hard to see greatness around you if your attitude is that nothing human is great, what a sad life that must be.

I’ll pass on debating you on the ignorant (bold and untrue) slams…Don’t care at all to discuss anything more with you really…I knew you wouldn’t (try to) get it…which is the only reason I interjected (again)...just wanted to share a piece from the other side…feeling life by perceiving what you feel; what you see…“awake”...not that tough to understand…matter of fact, you should be able to get it…it’s what seems to be at the heart of what bugs you about the whole blindly following “sheeple”.  But seeing that you won’t give that side of reality a chance, maybe that’s just it…you too are part of the blindly following “sheeple”...and it is really getting to you…

I see profound greatness in the natural world…and again, that’s what humans are and have been a part of…I see the good that humans are doing, and have done, I also see the bad.  That’s all!  Again, not too hard.  But sooo important…to see both sides.  Like Jack says, “Who needs please when we have guns?”  I understand it’s not always bad intent, but we’ve too often “asleep”; unaccepting personal responsibiltiy for the bad…and like everyone, I too am one of “the people”.  I see the good, it’s so easy to see the good…I see it on both (actually, three) sides…what is, was, and what can be.  What’s challenging, is to see the bad…on both (all three) sides…

Hoping you know this Jack line by now…So who is it that really, “takes a picture from the pretty side”?  Both of us really…again, there’s just two sides…making humanity and the “unseen” the symmetrical world, but it can only be truly beautiful when in harmony; when we all understand…yeah, peace.  And we’ve all been on your road for such a long time…time for something new….whatever that means.

I have a “scientist” friend who says to his fellow scientist friends, “At some point logic ends.”  And yet that too has another side…and that’s the entry.  And that’s the not-so-secret, secret to our future, and our past, to the universe…so what is really true?  At some point you have to trust not just what you see, but also what you feel.

Yes, I am often sad when I look around and see; because I believe in so much more that we could be.  But I’m also grateful for what I have AND I’m anxious to find what I feel is ahead…whatever fate that brings…taking care of the planet; being aware of the excess waste we make beyond our breath and what comes from eating moderately… it just feels like the right thing to do…logic…from the other side; it’s all about balance; understanding…we’re just tipping the scale to make it all right…again.

I see many great comments about ways to reverse Global Warming. However, there is one very important thing that most activists conveniently leave out. It carries the biggest impact - DIET! Sure, go ahead and change your light bulbs, plant your trees and recycle your garbage…but this is only a fraction of the impact you could be having if you decided to really GO GREEN and stop eating flesh (i.e. beef, chicken, fish, etc). 80% of the Amazon forests have been lost due to the animal farming industry.

The United Nations came out with a 300 page report, Livestock’s Long Shadow, in 2006 - where they clearly stated that the animal industries around the world pollute more that all transportation combined!! WAKE UP AND SMELL THE BLOOD! We slaughter more than 55 Billion animals anually - did you think that was going to have no impact!

Your fork does more damage than your car keys have ever done. Stop eating yourself, and our Planet to death! Become a REAL (green) environmentalist and eat your greens!

Like Jack says, “...mighty, mighty appetite…”  It’s all the same…just different reflections/“languages”...so we can “see”.

global warming sucks

er… first we have to understand that the life wouldn’t exist if there wasnt global warming… it’s natural, and without it the temperature of the earth would be -100°C.
HUMAN bad action sucks.

Hello all Earth lovers!

Yep, Climate change is really upon us.
In connection to this, i would like to hear some ideas on what we can to to avoid, prevent, adopt, and win against climate change. Every Idea is welcome, small to large scale. If your doing your part in countering the effects of climate change, maybe i/we can do it together too.

Easy Things You Can Do To Help Our Climate:

  1. TIP: Travel light. Walk or bike instead of driving a car. Cars and trucks run on fossil fuels, which release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. In the United States, automobiles produce over 20 percent of total carbon emissions. Walk or bike and you?ll save one pound of carbon for every mile you travel.
  2. TIP: Teleconference instead of flying. For office meetings, if you can telephone or videoconference, you will save time, money, and carbon emissions. Airplanes pump carbon emissions high into the atmosphere, producing 12 percent of transportation sector emissions.
  3. TIP: See the light. Use compact fluorescent light bulbs. These energy-efficient bulbs help fight climate change because they reduce the amount of fossil fuels that utilities burn. You will save 100 pounds of carbon for each incandescent bulb that you replace with a compact fluorescent, over the life of the bulb.
  4. TIP: Recycle and use recycled products. Products made from recycled paper, glass, metal and plastic reduce carbon emissions because they use less energy to manufacture than products made from completely new materials. For instance, you?ll save two pounds of carbon for every 20 glass bottles that you recycle. Recycling paper also saves trees and lets them continue to reduce climate change naturally as they remain in the forest, where they remove carbon from the atmosphere.
  5. TIP: Inflate your tires. If you own a car, it will get better gas mileage when the tires are fully inflated, so it will burn less gas and emit less carbon. Check your automobile monthly to ensure that the tires are fully inflated. Follow this tip and save 300 pounds of carbon dioxide for every 10,000 miles you drive.
  6. TIP: Plant native trees. Trees absorb carbon dioxide from the air and use it as their energy source, producing oxygen for us to breathe. A tree in the temperate zone found between the tropics and the polar circles can remove and store 700 to 7,000 pounds of carbon over its lifetime. A tree that shades a house can reduce the energy required to run the air conditioner and save an additional 200 to 2,000 pounds of carbon over its lifetime.
  7. TIP: Turn down the heat. Heating and air conditioning draw more than half of the energy that a home uses in the United States. Turn down the heat or air conditioning when you leave the house or go to bed. You can easily install a programmable thermostat that can save up money and carbon.
  8. TIP: Buy renewable energy. Electricity generation produces 40 percent of carbon emissions from the United States. A growing number of utilities generate electricity from renewable energy sources with solar panels, windmills and other technologies. If your utility offers renewable energy, buy it. If not, send them a message asking for clean energy.
  9. TIP: Act globally, eat locally. If you shop at a supermarket, the food you buy may travel in a plane from the other side of the world, burning fossil fuels the entire trip. Shop at a local farmers markets and you will find fresh and healthy food, and help save our climate.

I strongly agree with this! We seriously need to learn to deal with the consequences of our actions, ultimately it is the human race who have done and ARE ruining the world we live in, and this isn’t a problem we can run and hide from. I am constantly reminding my friends and family about what we need to do to help put a stop to climate change, because I care about them as well as teh Earth, yet sadly most of them fail to understand.
The human race is selfish, greedy and way too materialistic. I really believe that if everyone would just stop thinking about themselves and look at the state of the planet for once, we really could do something about it. Even, as most of you have said, it is just simple things like turning off lights and taking a shower instead of a bath, it WILL help. People need to open their eyes before it really is too late.
