Being a newbie, I must say I love this forum!!! Lowe’s Foods grocery store have introduced a new spin on the idea of bringing your own bags to shop with. They will sell you (1.00 a bag)a canvas “green” shopping bag. Everytime you return and use your green bags, you get a discount on your whole order. I think Kudos to these guys for doing this!! |

this is great. i think that this is the type of approach every company should take. in the end it benefits everyone. my parents own a dry cleaners, which i know is not an environmentally friendly business, but they really try to do the right things, environmentally and otherwise. any suggestions i can pass on to them? they do recycle their plastic bags, and have for several years, they also ask for old hangers. any suggestions would help. |

I shop at Lowe’s sometimes, but Bi-Lo’s also will give you a discount if your bring your own bags as well as Earth Fare and a few other places. I keep my bags in my trunk and am looking for a small expandable one to go in my purse so that I can have it with me at all times so that when I don’t have my vehicle, that I can still uphold my values and practices. |
