This used to be a popular topic in the old forum. Some new(er) bands that I’ve started listening to and are worth taking a look at include: Manchester Orchestra Also, they probably arn’t new to any of the old forum subscribers, but if haven’t heard them make sure to check out Current Swell. |

I’m recommending these guys: Newton Faulkner The last two are Aussies. Will Conner opened for Jack Johnson at his concerts down here, and I hope he’s picked up by Brushfire at some point in the future! Old Man River… well, he just kicks all kind of arse. :) |

Good thread. It’s always good to learn of new musicians. I really like The Dodos, Sean Hayes and Old Man River, so thanks for the tip off. There is a bloke called Phil Campbell who I would recommend. http://www.myspace.com/philcampbellmusic I watched him Jools Holland show on the BBC and was very impressed! |

I second Mike Pinto. very good. Also, check out Pete Murray and if you haven’t already, John Butler and Xavier Rudd. I’m new here, so imagine most of those are well known already! Who else.., erm.. The Savage Jazz are very good, they’re unsigned, but check out their Myspace. Not sure if any of those are ‘new’ bands, but most are relatively lesser known! |
