That “snapshot” of Jack bugged me! Dorky really. I couldn’t finish watching it! Besides capturing his look and “mellowness” I don’t think much else was an accurate portrayal of him. Think they just took the “mellow” route as far as they could. And I think they’ve mistaken mellow for humble! |

I was not impressed with the skit. I think SNL has been pretty lame lately and needs better comedians like they had in the ole days… besides, I really don’t think that Jack is into using drugs. His music is focused towards family values , and he’s a role model for young children. I can’t see him interested in a hobby that can be so destructive to families. |

Who knows if he smokes anymore but heres a bit of a rolling stone interview which certainly suggests that he has: If you were forced to get baked and listen to an album: What kind of weed? What album? Let’s see. The weed doesn’t really matter—I’ve never been a weed aficionado. It’s either there or it isn’t. It’s tough just picking one album. Radiohead is pretty amazing to check out. Kid A might put you in a funny mood, but that’s definitely one to put some headphones on and listen to all the crazy layers. But some of those songs can be really dark, so I’d follow that up with some early Bob Marley stuff, like African Herbsman, to get you back into a good state of mind. source: http://www.rollingstone.com/news/story/7265053/qa_jack_johnson Seriously though, the guy went to UCSB and lived in Isla Vista. The man has smoked pot. |

Wow. Haha! I don’t know whether he does or doesn’t but that skit was HORRIBLE, to say the least. I always figured you’d kind of get an idea by going to a live show - if there are groups and groups of fans smoking/drinking, at times the artist will actually make a sly remark about it or something - i’ve seen that happen at a few shows. Just an observation, that’s all. Who knows though. He’s gonna do what he wants to do. |

i think that is what made it funny, the fact that, of course, it’s a complete exaggeration. How often does SNL do a skit that is dead-on exactly like a celebrity. the whole point is to exaggerate the stupidest, smallest details. I thought it was freakin hilarious. however, i do agree that in the past couple of years SNL has gone downhill. Its kinda weird it’s almost like SNL used to be the best and MAD TV sucked, and now it’s like MAD is the best and SNL sucks. Best SNL comedians in my opinion: Phil Hartman, Chris Farley, Dana Carvey, Will ferrell and even though he isn’t actually a cast member I gotta say Christopher Walken(sp?)... i gotta fever and the only prescription is more cowbell |
