Organic Cotton

I can’t help but notice all the great work that is being done by so many people! It is interesting to me that there is one area that is continually overlooked when environmental issues are discussed. Everyone knows that organic farming just makes sense, but we continue to wear clothes that are made from cotton that is farmed using environmentally harmful practices. We need to start supporting the farmers that have made the choice to switch to organic cotton farming practices. It’s not just about what we do and eat...it’s about what we wear as well! If we, as the general public, insist on wearing only organic clothing....we can change the farming and fabricating practices of a huge industry! As of now, there is such a small demand for organic clothing because people are just not aware of how harmful traditional cotton farming practices are, or just choose to ignore it. For some great information on what a few companies are doing to try to start this clothing revolution, go to http://www.earthpositiveonline.com

hello!
is great to see that you want to do a change like that, in what we wear, and I would like to introduce an iniciative, here on Brasil, on organic clothes. It is named Justa Trama, that means Fair Web, and we make clothes by organic cotton, on a system that involves from the farmer to the stores, only cooperatives and Solidary Economy companies. We have workers from North to south in Brasil, on the Amazon forest or in São Paulo.
