Bob Dylan

Who here likes Bob Dylan?  I just stubled upon his album “The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan” it was his second album.  It’s so raw and pure just him, an acoustic guitar, and a harmonica.  It’s so simple but his sogwriting is amazing.  His lyrics are funny, romantic, poitical, inspiring, and all around just take you places. As a songwriter he reminds me of Jack if had been a folk musician from the 60’s.  I highly recomend picking up this album if you don’t already have it or want a good introduction to Bob Dylan.

You should check out this band called The Beatles. I hear they’re all the rage.

Hey man, just cause you didn’t like my post and think that there is something funny about me discovering Bob Dylan’s music and wanting to share and discuss it with other people doesn’t mean that you have to be a sarcastic jerk about it.  I think I speak on behalf of everyone here when I say, keep your negative comments to yourself or take them somewhere else because nobody here wants listen to them.

Ya dude I totally feel you on J.J. Cale too, a lot of people don’t know about him.  He was a huge influence on Clapton.

I really like this thread….and I can’t help but mention my personal favorite Van Morrison.  It used to be really hard to find his old stuff, and there is a lot of it, but I am noticing iTunes now has most, if not all.  The first CD I really paid attention to was Poetic Champions Compose, and I became addicted.  Amazing lyrics.  My favorite songs tend to be ones that are not the popular ones.  Check out:

Alan Watts Blues
Crazy Love (from Moondance)
Days Like This
I Forgot that Love Existed (you have to play loud for the bass in the beginning)
Redwood Tree
Sometimes We Cry
Evening in June
Steal My Heart Away

I could go on and on….if anybody gets hooked, let me know :)

Dylan is my man.  Blood on the Tracks is one of the best albums ever.  The song Hurricane has been playing on my iTunes for a couple years now and I still love it more than ever.  Congrats on finding such a great musical gem.
