Tailgating at JJ shows

Total Posts: 1

Going to our first JJ show and really looking forward to it. After twenty five years of going to Buffett shows, we are ready for a change. Just wondering about the atmosphere in the parking lot before the shows. Also does Blossom still allow any pre-concert partying? ie: open containers etc?

Good question!

We, too, are going to our first JJ show (although we’ve been fans for many years!). We’re going to the Sandstone Ampitheatre in KC (been many times before for Phish and Dead shows), but it’s been a few years. Does anyone know if there is still partying before/after the show?

Who’s going?

:)

it most likely will depend on the venue as far as what’s allowed in the parking lot.  I’m sure most jack fans are down to party, and it will probably be going on even if it is not “allowed” in the lot…  I saw him at the gorge amphitheater in George, WA and although I don’t think it was allowed we still drank in the parking lot.  Also, you might check to see if there is a campground in the area.

I also will be at the show in kansas. a tailgate party before sounds like fun I’ll be looking for you, and i think there are campsites around there.
My big question is after you go in to get the “bracelet” can you came back out or is it no exiting after you’ve already been in

generally at shows there is no re-entry

Well Hummm
But the Door open @ 5:00 and show Starts @ 7:00 right?
(I think i read that somewhere.)
And only the first 5000 get a “pit pass”
How packed is this show gonna be?

Well… It’s not sold out… Still, I think the 5,000 wristbands will go quickly.

Kind of a tough call. I don’t want to mill around inside for 2 hours when I could be out in the parking lot partying with all the JJ friends!

Overall, I thought the tailgating before the JJ shows I attended were pretty good.  Lots of people grilling, hanging out before the show, blastin Jack of course….
