Hello evereybody! I’ve got a question:
Jack Johnson produced his new album ‘Sleep Trought The Static’ with 100% solar energy. I am a musican as well and I wanted to ask, whether you know a studio in europe that uses only solar energy for producing music?
Amps and all the other stuff take very much energy that could be saved. I’m happy about answers :-)

Jens The Premises Studio A in the UK is a solar powered pro recording studio. It was built using recycled materials where this was possible, and the electronics right down to the air conditioning is adapted to managing with a low energy demand.

Enjoy

Great use of this site!  Just don’t travel too far around Europe to “do the right thing”!  I don’t know…maybe producing an album uses so much more energy than traveling..??

You are an amazing person for all you are doing Jack. What is the company name that you got your solar panels from? I am interested in researching this further and finding a place that sells these close to my home that will be of benefit to my family. Also i notice that today you celebrate your birthday. Soooooo,Happy Birthday Jack! Cheers! You Rock! :)

Just my 2 cents from Residential Solar Power

Basic principles to run your home on solar panels:

  * Select a packaged system that meets criteria like reduction in monthly electricity bill, environmental benefits, desire for backup power, initial budget constraints, etc.
  * Ensure the roof area or other installation site is capable of handling the desired system size.
o If roof mounted, verify that the roof is capable of handling additional weight of PV system. Augment roof structure as necessary.
o Properly seal any roof penetrations with roofing industry approved sealing methods.
o Install equipment according to manufacturers specifications, using installation requirements and
o procedures from the manufacturers’ specifications.
o Properly ground the system parts to reduce the threat of shock hazards and induced surges
