For the first time ever, my home town, Columbus, IN has experienced a natural disaster. Flooding has distroyed a huge portion of our town. The local hospital lost all their files, factories are under water; which means people are out of work and the areas in town that were effected the worse were those who house many lower class families with no flood insurance. The worst part of all is that those with flood insursnce are being told that coverage does not include any “flooding caused from anything out of the sky”! How, then, does one sustain a flood? If the rain fall hadn’t been so extreme and caused over 5 dams to colapse, then there wouldn’t be a problem would there? My friends and I, along with many other concerned citizens have been trying to provide relief to those who need it most. If anyone wishes to donate carpet, vinyl/wood flooring, dry wall, insulation, doors, trim, molding, ANYTHING that can help these 6000 people who are currently homeless, please contact me at . Just think about the children, the irrepaceable items these people have lost, the money and supplies they need but don’t have...how could you not want to help? I know I can’t. Any help that anyone wants to give would be a blessing to these people and would be overwhelmingly appreciated by our recently formed voluteer program:CCWGB (Columbus Citizens Who Give Back). We would like to send our gratitude to Jack Johnson for donating profits from his 6/13/08 concert at Verizon Wireless to the Red Cross providing relief to these people. YOU ROCK JACK!!!!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROUSITY AND COMMITMENT TO THE ENVIRONMENT!!! YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION TO US ALL…
