General Admission seating is NOT the way to go

Last night six friends all left work early to go to the Raleigh show to get good seats.  We got there at 5:30pm.  People kept coming and asking if every seat was taken around us at 7:00pm, 8:00pm, etc, which was expected.  But at 9:00pm, these three awful women noticed three open seats around us- 3 of our group went to pee.  They got security involved, who told us “You can’t save seats!” We explained we had been there for 3 1/2 hours and it ended up in a huge mess and we almost came to blows.

The music was excellent but BOO on General Admission seating.

Amen to that.  I would like to see how the staff enjoyed last night’s festivities.  I’m sure it was much more angst than any metal show could offer!

Ahhh, don’t you love people who come to a mellow concert and who are anything but. Why can’t we all just get along?

REAL good times last night.  But yes I do agree that GA sucked.  We got good seats but people just kept coming up and standing around bumping into and not going anywhere.  Dang security kept flashing flash lights, but I got over it.

The other thing was during the opening bands while you were walking around it would have been nice to have THEIR music playing not some dumb dj.  That didn’t make sense to me, but they didn’t ask for my input before they set up so WHAT ya gonna do?

Oh I agree.  There is no way I would walk into a show at 9pm and go for the front!  I can’t believe some people.

People were upset because they had a ticket but couldn’t find a seat anywhere and security had a very broad definition of what areas had to be clear for fire safety issues..

We arrived early to the Raleigh concert wanting to partake in the “passport” events and, spent some time talking with the different booths.  When we made are way to the seats at 6:00 figuring we would have plenty of opportunity to find some.  To our dismay people had camped out saving blocks of seats making it difficult to find just a pair together.  I have to give credit to the event staff for making every effort to help us in locating some.  Luckily they foud us two together but, not everyone was as lucky.  Holding so many VIP seats for people that didn’t even show up till Jack played or, didn’t even show at all could have been given to the fans that wanted to enjoy the whole show!!  It was an amazing show but, maybe re-think the GA seating!

People are camping out for Jack’s shows? Damn… I hope I can get good seats at the Red Rocks show.

yeah, I’m not a fan of GA, except Pit GA where there is only a small area up front with a certain amount of tickets.

Or a very small venue like Mesa Amphitheater in Mesa, AZ.

I think GA seating is the way to go. Otherwise you have ticket brokers, radio giveaways, etc, etc sections and then people do not have an equal opportunity to get a great seat. (The ticket brokers just hog big sections and raise the prices, that’s not any fun).

Besides, I think rules should be put into place where you are only allowed to save a seat for one person. If that person went to get food, use the facilities etc. People saving seats for a group of people is just wrong.

Anyone expecting to get an awesome seat after not sitting in it the whole time or showing up late is just silly. Also, security is not going to make you give up 1 seat, but they will make you give up more than one. Why does everyone have to go to the bathroom together and visit the venues together? The only exception should be when someone has a small child. Come on people......

I went with my boyfriend and we took turns saving our 2 seats and we talked before the concert started, we had a great time. We got to the the NC concert 1 hour and 45mins early and ended up in the 5th row, and we made some friends waiting in line. I had a blast. If you do the time in line and stay in your seat then you deserve it. Also, anyone who goes to a general admission concert should know and expect that they may not get a seat in a good section, you can’t go into it thinking you’ll have front row, lets be adults.
