Jack Johnson Hawaii Theatre Show Tickets Now Available On-Line

 
Hawaii fans asked to be first in-line for Jack Johnson En Concert, and he delivered!  The Kokua Hawaii Foundation Member Pre-sale and Hawaii Theatre Box Office-only sale of Jack Johnson En Concert and live acoustic show proved to be a big success! 
 
‘We were so excited to have the opportunity to buy tickets in person,’ remarked a fan that got in-line at 6am Saturday morning, ‘it really increased our chances of getting the seats we wanted and of getting tickets at all!’ 
 
If you weren’t one of the die-hard fans who woke up early and stood in line this weekend to get your seat to the Jack Johnson show, you’re still in luck.  Tickets to Johnson’s intimate Hawaii Theatre performances on November 13th and 14th are still available but are expected to go fast once they open up for sale online starting Tuesday, October 27th, at 9am.
 
These shows are Johnson’s only appearances in support of his En Concert live DVD and CD release, which also hits stores Tuesday, October 27th.  En Concert chronicles the special visual and musical moments from Jack Johnson’s 2008 Sleep Through The Static world tour.  The live CD features collaborations with Hawaii’s own Paula Fuga and Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder in addition to select tracks from the 2008 Kokua Festival.
 
All proceeds of the Hawaii Theatre shows will benefit the Kokua Hawaii Foundation.

Jack Johnson to play 2 nights in Hawaii in support of his new release

Hawaii Theatre Shows to Benefit the Kokua Hawaii Foundation

In celebration of his En Concert live DVD and CD release, Kokua Hawaii Foundation co-founder, Jack Johnson, will screen the documentary film, and play acoustic performances on two nights, November 13th and 14th, alongside band member and solo artist, Zach Gill, at the legendary Hawaii Theatre in downtown Honolulu.

These two Hawaii Theatre shows will be Johnson’s only live performances in 2009 since the finale of his Sleep Through The Static world tour last fall. All proceeds from these shows will benefit the Kokua Hawaii Foundation. In addition, all profits from the 2008 tour and the En Concert releases will also fund the Kokua Hawaii Foundation and the Johnson Ohana Charitable Foundation to further support environmental, art, and music education around the world.

En Concert, a Brushfire Records release available as a Deluxe Pack (CD & DVD) and on Blue Ray or Vinyl, chronicles the special visual and musical moments from Jack Johnson’s 2008 Sleep Through The Static world tour. The En Concert film, directed by Emmett Malloy, whom Johnson collaborated with to create the award winning surf films, “Thicker Than Water” and “September Sessions”, follows Johnson during the European leg of his tour capturing behind the scenes adventures and on-stage magic.

“This film feels like a continuation of our surf films,” says Johnson, “but instead of holding a camera they let me have a guitar this time.” Rolling Stone said, “En Concert captures the rocker in his element.”

Jack Surprises Santa Barbara!

The World premier of Jack’s new film En Concert went down this past Saturday at The Arlington Theater in Santa Barbara, California.  Jack surprised everyone by making a last minute appearance.  The evening included the world premerie of the new film, an exclusive raffle, a Q&A with the director Emmett Malloy and Jack closed out the night with a short acoustic set. 

It’s been over a year since the Sleep Through the Static tour finished up so there was a little bit of rust, a few “once in a lifetime” versions, some requested rarities from the audience and even an attempt to play a new song for the first time.  Looks like we’ll have to wait until the next tour to hear that one.  All in all Jack, Emmett and the whole Santa Barbara hometown crowd had a great night.  And perhaps, most importantly to some, Jack was sporting a new look.

October 10th marks the official World Premiere of the film Jack Johnson: En Concert. Jack Johnson Music Teams Up With EcoUsable for SIGG Bottle Trade

 

News recently came out that SIGG bottles manufactured prior to August 2008 contained BPA in their liner. SIGG bottles manufactured since August 2008 contain SIGG’s new EcoCare liner - independently tested to be free of BPA, BADGE, phthalates and other harmful chemicals. While BPA is present in the old bottle liner, test results down to 2ppb sensitivity show no leaching. Contrary to rumors, this is not a recall, because the bottles are not unsafe, but voluntary exchange programs are being offered by SIGG and other retailers like ReusableBags.com and Whole Foods.
