GEOTA is a non-profit organization active in Portugal since 1981. Their goal is to defend the environment, by engaging Portuguese community in environmental activities, including recycling and the CoastWatch program.

The League for the Protection of Nature is based in Lisbon, Portugal and aims to conserve nature and to protect ecosystem diversity.

Quercus – National Association for Nature Conservation was founded in 1985 and is one of the biggest NGO in Portugal. Since then, Quercus has been in the front line to defend and preserve natural resources, environment and sustainable development. Quercus has 20 regional groups spread throughout the country (including on the islands of Madeira and Azores). We also have several working groups in different environmental areas and educational programmes for all population about climate change, energy, water, nature conservation and many others themes.

The Surfrider Foundation is dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world's oceans, waves and beaches for all people, through conservation, activism, research and education. As part of the tour, Surfrider is launching their "Rise Above Plastics" campaign to educate the public about the dangers plastics pose to our environment, and what each of us can do to help reduce these impacts.
